In a dedicated effort to improve healthcare access for remote border areas, units of the Cross Swords Division of the Indian Army organized a Medical Camp cum Mobility Aid Distribution Camp in the Akhnoor Sector of border village . The camp, conducted under Operation Sadbhavana, focused on providing essential medical services to underserved populations from villages including Khour, Nandwal, Budhwal, Nikkian, Chakmalal, and Chakrama.
Over 500 residents benefitted from the camp, which offered primary medical diagnostics, consultations, and free medicine distribution, addressing a crucial need for those who otherwise face long journeys to access healthcare. A highly qualified team of five Army Medical Corps Officers, supported by two Civil Medical Officers and trained nursing staff, ensured that comprehensive medical care was available to all attendees.
The camp provided specialized consultations in gynecology, physiotherapy, dental care, and general medicine, along with high-quality medications. In a notable effort to support mobility for the elderly, the Indian Army distributed wheelchairs and walking sticks to 47 seniors. Blood donation efforts were also organized, contributing further to the noble cause of health support in these communities.
This initiative highlights the Indian Army’s commitment to nation-building and to improving the quality of life for the residents of Khour Tehsil and neighboring areas. The camp strengthened the bond between the Indian Army and the people of the Akhnoor Sector, demonstrating the Army’s dedication to the welfare of citizens in remote regions.
